Whether you are a police wife or an officer, we all need encouragement and support through this lifestyle. From the moment my husband started the academy and to this day, I have looked for ways to feel encouraged and supported; police wives prayers (prayers that seemed perfect for this lifestyle) were always the best place for me to start.
Not all of these prayers may speak to you and that’s okay. Different prayers may stand out to you at different times throughout your journey as a police wife. Same goes for your officer. But I love how so many pieces of scripture can be applied to the experiences we (you and your officer) face in this lifestyle.
You can use these prayers to pray individually or as a couple whenever they are needed.
I hope they comfort you during trying times as they have me.
Police wives prayers
Proverbs 31:27 –> She looks well to the ways of her household, and eats
not the bread of idleness.
2 Timothy 1:7 –> For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power,
and of love, and of a sound mind.
Psalm 4:8–>In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.
This is one of my favorites. Sleep and sleeping peacefully is so difficult for so many police wives. Late at night is a time that we often let our worries in, so this prayer can be helpful for allowing the Lord to protect your husband and for allowing you to sleep without fears.

Hebrews 13:5 –> Have faith…Never will I leave you; Never will I forsake you.
This is also one that speaks to my heart. It took me a long time to have faith in my officer’s training enough that I could let go of some of my fears. I place faith in my husband and the Lord.
Romans 12:12 –> Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Prayers for police officers
Psalm 91:11-12 –> For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
Matthew 5:9 –> Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called
children of God.
Always one of the most popular pieces of scripture regarding law enforcement.
Joshua 1:9–> Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,
for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Ephesians 6:11 –> Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
I feel that this is a powerful prayer as it speaks so true of the current war on cops. Our officer’s need so much protection each and every day.
Praying for me, allows me to let go and let God. It is a chance to release my emotions and have hope in my prayer. I do have fear related to my husband’s job but I also have faith in him, his training, and God as his protector.
