Creative date nights to do at home:
Surprise dates for your spouse/partner
I love this idea! You and your spouse can take turns planning dates for one another. Everything planned (at-home, of course) is a surprise to the other person. Make it as fun and exciting as you wish!
Virtual getaway
So you may not be able to get away for a real vacation right now, but planning a virtual one can still be fun. Pick a location together then plan food, drinks, and activities to do at home based on that location.
Walk down memory lane date
This is a romantic date where you can look into your past. Go through old photos from when you were dating, wedding photos or even photos pre-dating just to reminisce.
You could plan your meal based off the food you ate on your first date or even what you ate on your wedding night.
Virtual game night with friends
If you are missing social interaction or love playing games, this is a fun one! Skype, Facetime or schedule a Zoom Room and play games with friends virtually. Agree on the number of couples and the games beforehand and be ready to go at a certain date/time.
Set out some fun snack food and drinks of your choice to complete the night.
My husband and I love Date Night-In Boxes! It is a subscription box that delivers pre-packaged dates right to your doorstep. They are a total surprise and a ton of fun! We like these because it takes the guesswork and planning out of the date. Plus, if your spouse is late getting home or if you have to reschedule then it is no big deal, because the date is already at your home, ready when you are.
I saw these recently and they look so fun! When you sign up, a chef teaches you cooking techniques and recipes via Skype. Then you can enjoy your creation in the comfort of your own home.
Murder Mystery Date Night with the Hunt-a-Killer Date Box
Pretty much the perfect date-in-a-box for any police officer. In these boxes, you solve a cold case as a team. This is another subscription box delivered right to your door.
Staycation date night
Order out from your favorite local restaurant and enjoy a low-key night at home.
At-home wine/beer tasting night
Can’t travel to wineries or breweries? No problem! Select craft beer or wine from your local ABC/grocery store OR get it delivered and have your own tasting right at home.
Indoor/outdoor picnic
A date doesn’t always have to be in the evening, especially when you are married to a first responder. Just because you are home, doesn’t mean you can’t have your date outside either. Get outside in the fresh air for a picnic lunch or breakfast date.
Fondue night
Don’t have a fondue set? That’s okay! Use a small pot and melt chocolate or cheese on your stovetop and use skewers for dipping.
Spa night with candlelight dinner
If you are in the need for some relaxation, then this is it. Have a candlelight dinner followed by a calming bath with soothing music.
